Since 2022, ETSI has rapidly expanded its client base by delivering near-term wind forecasts into the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) and by providing consulting services on variable renewable energy forecasting beyond the NEM.

Accurate, secure, and unbiased wind resource forecasts are critical for the energy transition, delivering significant financial benefits to asset operators through improved self-forecasts. They also create broader system benefits by reducing unnecessary deviations — lowering balancing costs, stabilising frequency, and reducing risks to system security.

These outcomes are underpinned by ETSI’s strong foundation in software engineering and advanced data analytics, ensuring forecasts that are both technically rigorous and practically valuable.
